The Full Story

The Why
What would happen if we all could experience the beauty of a faith that seeks reconciliation over domination, restoration over destruction, questions over compliance? What happens when a beauty that comes from deep joy is central to our faith. Christ came to redeem from what is in order to transform us into what could be.
Faith for people is about a different kind of formation. Stories that help shape who we want (and don't want) to be. Stories that inspire us to move beyond the comfort of certainty for the complexity of life.
This is a space to open up our world, encounter the unexpected, and delight in the joy that comes through struggle. To imagine the world and faith differently from what it is.
I want to share about the person who motivates me to do this: my mom, Darnly. My family was in a car accident a few months before I was born and my father became mentally and physically disabled from it. My mom served as a caregiver for forty years. I learned so much from watching her, from bearing witness to what the reality of following Jesus can look like, for better and worse, for richer and for poorer. We need to hear stories like this. Stories of the person who has been a caregiver for the past forty years who can teach us about loving the person in front of them because, well, Jesus. These are the stories of faith, I believe, we need to hear. A faith that places others as more important than myself. A faith were the beauty of the Gospel motivates us to love our neighbor and our God.
The What
The first step will be to have a TED-style event with several speakers and a live audience in Apex, North Carolina. There will be 8-10 speakers that will be recorded and edited. These videos will be uploaded to YouTube and the audio will be used in podcasts and other formats. The second step will be to have weekly (or daily) stories of faith in a blog format on this website. After that, our imagination is our only limitation. Do you want to tell your story?
We are interested in all stories related to your faith journey. We are particularly interested in stories that emphasize how faith has led to hope, healing, and community. These are not stories about how great you are but about the incredible work God is doing in and through people. Re-form Faith highlights the stories of everyday people in order to inspire and expand our conceptions of what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century.

The Not
This isn’t a place for people who have grandiose thoughts and a heroic view of how faith can impact culture through big personalities and overreaching ideas. This is a place for people you’ve never heard of to tell their story and inspire us to be and do better in our everyday lives.
You won’t agree with everything you hear but we hope that you will consider expanding your view of life and faith. How can God work in and through people to produce fruits that are beautiful and lift up the broken. How can we participate in restoring our small part of the world for the Kingdom.
What this is not:
1. a place to defend faith.
2. a platform for self-promotion
3. a platform for certainty
4. a platform for judgment
5. a heroic perspective where Christians will overcome and overtake culture.
6. where we act like Christianity is persecuted and in need of defending.
